A crushed skulll of a child is found Smuggler’s Cave, Morocco.  Too fragile to excavate on site, a large chunk of matrix with skull intact is removed and is CT scanned.  Using Zbrush, I reconstructed the skull and then created a replica apon which I based a phycical reonstruction.

The discovery of an enigmatic tooth and finger bone in the Altai Mountains of Siberia sparks a quest to give a face to a long lost form of human.  Having yielded its DNA, we know the Denisovans where closely related to the Neanderthals and us.  With the true connection proving elusive, it becomes evident that these three species of humans interbred and left living offspring in the modern world.  Much like recreating a bird from a feather or a fish from a scale, reconstructing the Denisovans will call on just as much logic and research as artistic creativity.
